The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre sits in Broadbeach, and a large share of what we do here is delegates and exhibitors rather than holidaymakers. Two things matter on those bookings.
The first is that a Sprinter takes fourteen people and fifteen bags on one fare — $275 from Gold Coast Airport, under $20 a head, arriving as one group rather than trickling in across four cars. The second is the invoice: a GST tax invoice is emailed automatically with every booking, which is what makes an event transfer reconcilable afterwards. If you book regularly, the corporate account route is faster.
Exhibitors with freight should say so when booking. Pull-up banners and display cases do not go in a sedan boot, and the $30 luggage trailer is cheaper than discovering that at the kerb.
Broadbeach is dense and much of it is one-way. The Star Gold Coast has its own porte-cochere and is straightforward. The apartment towers along Old Burleigh Road and the Esplanade are less so, and Surf Parade around the Oasis and the tram line has limited standing.
Give us the building name rather than only the street. It is the difference between stopping at your door and stopping somewhere you then walk from with bags. If you are arriving before the standard 2pm check-in, say so — a luggage drop and a short second leg is easy to arrange in advance and awkward to improvise.
Why not the tram? Broadbeach South is the southern terminus of the G:link, and route 777 runs there from Gold Coast Airport. It is a genuinely good option for one person with a backpack. With two suitcases, a pram, or a 10pm arrival, a fixed $110 door to door stops being an extravagance.
