Most Sunshine Coast travellers use Brisbane Airport for international flights and for the routes Sunshine Coast Airport does not fly. The drive is the Bruce Highway south to the Gateway Motorway, about an hour from Caloundra and closer to two from Noosa outside peak; the Gateway toll is inside every fare in the table.
The Bruce is a working highway and it does slow down — Friday afternoons northbound and Sunday evenings southbound most of all — so for a departure we recommend a pick-up time with a highway margin built in and confirm it with you when we confirm the booking. On arrivals we track the flight and the driver meets you inside the terminal with a name board; international arrivals at Brisbane include 60 minutes of free waiting rather than the usual 30.
Fares are per vehicle, not per person. A family or a group of friends pays one price for the trip, and a Luxury Minivan or Sprinter takes the surfboards, golf bags and prams without a trailer. Sunshine Coast Airport at Marcoola is also a priced destination for travellers connecting between the two airports.
